Riot Racers is thrilled to release the Genesis Drivers Collection on Thursday, December 2nd! Drivers add a fun and dynamic element to the game, affecting 20% of the race outcome. Drivers will also make great profile pictures and will be usable characters in the larger Riot Metaverse. When, Where, and How to Buy Drivers
The Drivers Drop is open to everyone and will take place on the Riot Racers Marketplace on December 2nd. For those fortunate enough to get a spot on the Drivers Drop Whitelist, they’ll be able to purchase a day earlier, on December 1st!
Simple Buying Process- If you do not yet have an account on the Riot Racers Marketplace, you can visit RiotRacers.com and register for an account at any time. Once registered, users will be randomly assigned a drop group automatically and will be able to see their group time displayed in the app on the top navigation bar. No other drop signup process is needed! You simply need to register an account and wait for your drop group time, which will be a one-hour time slot randomly assigned to you. Even users that create accounts the day of the drop will be assigned to the last drop groups and have an opportunity to purchase a Driver (if any are still available).
Special Drivers Drop Giveaways!
Racetrack Land Giveaway- Riot Racers will be giving away 150 Racetrack Land Plots during the Drivers Drop! Every 50th Driver purchased, starting at Driver #3,450, will win a FREE Racetrack Land Plot. There are 35 Rookie, 95 Rally, 8 Tracker, 7 Aero, 3 Pro, and 2 Legendary Racetrack Land Plots that will be given away, starting with the Rookie Class and ending with the Legendary. This means that that driver purchase #11,050 and #11,100 will win the Legendary Racetrack Land Plots.
Apollo Car Collection Whitelist- For every Driver that you buy, you will be whitelisted to buy one car in the first Apollo Collection Drop! One whitelist spot for a Car for every Driver without limit. This is a great perk for those who do not yet have their own Riot Racers car. Buy purchasing a Driver first, they’ll be all but ensured a chance to get an Apollo Car. NOTE: This benefit is ONLY for people who buy during the drop, and does not apply to secondary market sales or Drivers #1 to #3,333 that are being airdropped to Genesis Car holders apart from the Drivers Drop.
Drivers Drop Details
The Drivers Drop will be a blind drop, meaning that none of the Drivers details will be revealed at the time of purchase. Drivers will be revealed later, on December 4th, and that’s when you’ll be able to see all the details of your Drivers. All Driver varieties (Male, Female, Mecha), types (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water), trait levels (Speed, Braking, Handling, Endurance, Vision) and characteristics (Facial Expressions, Tattoos, Clothing, Hair, Jewelry, etc) will be randomly assigned. Until the time of reveal, you won’t know if you got a more common Driver or a super rare Driver!
Driver rarity will be affected by varieties, trait levels, and also types. The rarest types in order are: 10% FIRE, 15% WATER, 25% WIND, 50% EARTH. It was recently revealed that you will able to update/upgrade your Driver’s look (tattoos and clothing) in the future too! More details on Driver upgrades and update will be released in 2022.
Drivers will cost 0.07 Mainnet ETH, and purchases will be limited to 10 Drivers per wallet. Drivers impact 20% of the race outcome, and certain Drivers will perform better depending on the Race Conditions. So, savvy racers will likely try to get Drivers from each type (earth, wind, fire, and water) as well as try to acquire the best rated Drivers possible. For those who plan on having multiple Drivers, they will be able to hire out some of their Drivers to earn $RIOT tokens.
Enhanced Checkout Process — No Minting Fees
In the Riot Racers Marketplace, you’ll have a 1-hour time slot for the drop group that you’re in to make your purchases. Add as many Drivers as you want (up to 10) to your shopping car, and then start the checkout process. Once you have your Drivers in your cart, you’ll have 10 minutes to complete your purchase. The payment process only requires you to transfer ETH, meaning there are no minting fees and more importantly no gas wars. This keeps the Ethereum gas price as low as it can possibly get (probably around $10 USD).
The Riot Racers developers improved the Riot Racers Marketplace checkout even more too, streamlining the checkout process so you only need to pay once for everything. During the Drivers Drop, you will select how many Drivers you want to buy and then pay the total in Mainnet ETH. Only one transaction is required, regardless of how many Drivers you buy, which will equate to the lowest possible gas fees! After your payment is completed, the backend systems will start to send your Driver(s) to you on the Polygon network.
